Default 1937 Model 79 Truck Speedometer Cable?

I can't seem to verify anywhere whether or not the speedometer cable for a regular pickup will work for my 131.5 in wheelbase Model 79.

I don't have the old cable to use as a guide for length so I'm kinda fumbling around. The drive is in the torque tube and the speedometer in the dash appears to be in good shape.

Any input is appreciated.

The 79-17261 casing is 90" the shaft 79-17262 90.75" and the casing and shaft is 81T-17260=88.08"
The pick up assembly is only 70" so it is too short
The 37-8 truck or the 38-9 122" or 134" should work.
Check the green chassis parts book 1928-47 p629

Where can I source the 81T-17260 assembly?

I used to get all sorts of teleflex type speedometer cables made up at a shop here in SA called SX Callahan. A person needs to know the type of end fittings and the length needed. If Fred at Southside Obsolete doesn't have it then it will have to be fabricated. There are still likely a number of speedometer repair shops around the country that can fabricate cables.

A good friend just had a speedo cable made for his 1940 Woodie Columbia. The shop can make one to the specified length if you get stuck. The email is [email protected]

Ok, Thanks.

David, Your '35-36 Model 51 book has been a treasure trove of information even for my '37.
