Default Differences between a 41 frame and a 40 frame

I keep thinking about Dennis Carpenters new 40 Ford coupe. Will a 41 Ford coupe frame work on a 40 coupe? I have a 41 Ford couple and somebody used it for patch panels and there is not much left of the body.

Do not get me started on the stupidity of ethanol. I think one of the monitors is from Iowa and he will delete the thread.

Go to Wescotts web site and get the 40 Body mount locations and check them against your 41 frame. I would be surprised if they were even close, but I've never checked.

No good - totally different. 41 car frames are more like the later model 42-48 cars.

Keep checking here and on the the HAMB - I've seen frames for sale close to you that were reasonably priced ..... matter of fact, I've seen running 40 Ford coupes for sale complete that were cheaper that Carpenter's body alone.

Wesscot's drawings only go to 1940. The thirty five to 40 car frames are the same. The 35 to 41 have the same wheel base. I thought I heard a long time ago that the 40 and 41 were the same. The pickups are the same.

Most of the body is still on my 41.

The '41 car wheelbase increased to 114", while the pickup/sedan delivery remained at 112". The '40 and '41 Ford cars are very different.

41 Passenger frames are a one year wonder. Similar to the 42-48 from the firewall back.

Attached is a scan of a 46-48 diagram from an old body shop repair manual.

Karl

Thanks for the reply. Those are sure nice drawings on your website. They get a lot of use by some of my friends.

Thanks again
