1935 5 window coupe steering limiter
Hi guys, as my car in a little lower, I get problems with my front wheels touching my fenders, when turning the steering to far. So I am searching for a steering limiter (or how its called correctly....).
Can anyone help with ideas? Think I'm nit the first with this problem, but didn't find anything..... |

Jan, the steering stops are the nuts on the kingpin lock bolts. You can put washers under the nuts, or use longer nuts or build up the nuts with weld. You just need to make them bigger. The longer you make the nuts the more you will limit the steering.
If you watch this video: https://youtu.be/-nhFK4MQ79s You might get an idea of what I am talking about. Mart. |

Mart, thank you, though this couldn't be everything.... but that's easy to do.
Thanks a lot. Have a nice day. |

We usually slip a 5/8" jam nut over the end of the original stop and weld it on. Then shape the nut from there to fine tune it. A piece of heavy wall DOM tubing also works. |
