12 volt Issues

I converted to a 12 volt system and added the nu-rex transpark distributor along with Haligen lights, starter kit etc. Two motor rebuilds dealing with outside "experts" and still runs rough. I'd like to put my old distributor back in to see if the trouble is with the electronic ignition. The old distributor shorts out. I've missed a step or two I'm sure. I have the 12 volt coil installed along with the condensor from the Nu-rex. Where did I go wrong?
