I plan on using a 327sbc with a 3sp manual Chevrolet trans. Will I have to split the wishbones? what about transmission mount. stock 40 frame? Thanks

SBC & 3 speed into '40 Ford does not require the wishbone to be split.
You will have to nibble the upper part of the center member for trans clearance & fashion a plate for the mount.
The bottom plate of the cross member, with the wishbone mount can stay.
