Replacing exterior door handles
I’m trying to replace the outside door handles on my 39 ford deluxe. The replacements have longer shafts which I need to cut. The originals had a piece of the shaft slotted to fit the hole. The new ones do not have the slotted part. Should the new ones still work?
Thanks |

Re: Replacing exterior door handles
Think you need to try to duplicate the slotted sections in your replacements or they will not function correctly.

Yes, Gary is correct - you need to put new slots in the same locations as original ones. That's what I did. |
