Re: 8BA lifters noisy
Update...Pulled heads and intake and found 8 valves with excessive lash using the #1 TDC method, adjust both valves, rotate crank 90 degrees, then on to the next cylinder in the firing order etc. Worked out great, and replaced 8 valves with NORS TRW valves ground to fit. Started engine today and valves are quiet but have a knock at idle that seems to disappear when revving engine.
Suspect a head clearance problem or rod hitting 8RT oil pan. Have not checked anything yet. Question....If I short out one cylinder at a time can I isolate a head clearance problem ? |

Re: 8BA lifters noisy
If you had a head contact problem, wouldn't you have seen it when you pulled the heads?

Re: 8BA lifters noisy
Update....Dropped the pan and turned out to be connecting rod problem.
Thanks to all for the advice. |
