hi guys i have a 41 helmet distributor,i have a paper gasket and a cork one,which should i use? is one better then the other? also i have new inner distributor caps from C&G and my distributor is on its way from bubbas, how do i make sure that clearance with the inner caps etc is correct? this distributor is new to me. thanks

paper gasket-not as thick as the cork

before you install the dist. on the engine, just put the inner caps on and slowly rotate the shaft and watch for clearance thru the coil mount hole

Ok paper , the cork is thicker. Ok I will watch for clearance . Any specific clearance I should be looking for between the rotor and side caps?

2nd to what Kube has indicated, there are a some new rotor buttons that have instructions as to trim the rotor to gain clearance--I think/hope these have worked thru the system , I have not seen any lately. do you have new inner caps? if you are using old inner caps you may need to sand the edge to make it fit without having to force it in. seems the old plastic will "grow"
