Looking for Model A DVD
Hi Group:
For some time now I have been looking for a DVD titled "The Fantastic Model A Ford". It was produced by Dave Parker Productions in 2004. My copy is damaged and I am looking for a replacement copy. I have not been able to locate Dave Parker Productions, are they out of Businness? Does anyone out there have this DVD for sale? Henry's 31 |

Re: Looking for Model A DVD
Just for grins, I checked on Amazon, eBay, and did a general internet search. It doesn't seem to be available at the moment from any source, either commercially or via the second hand market. Amazon lists it as "Discontinued". It's really unusual to find nothing in a search - I typically find an item, sometimes for ridiculously high prices.
Perhaps you'd find it at a flea market? I have no clue where else to look.

I can't seem to find one for you either. If your disc isn't cracked, scratches and even gouges can be polished out if you know how.

For things like that, I use eBay's "Searches I Follow" function (what used to be called Saved Searches). I tell eBay what I want, and wait patiently. Sooner or later, the hard-to-find thing turns up, and I get an e-mail.

I had several in the past that copied VERY slowly but finally made a good copy after several hours instead of the 7-8 minutes that it normally takes. Machine would run very slowly then speed up, slow down etc. Note: If disk is cracked do not try this on a DVD machine that you like. I saw several cracked DVDs shatter in many pieces while spinning up to speed and the flying pieces damaged the machine beyond repair. |

Re: Looking for Model A DVD
Thanks for all the good information. I have checked every day on Ebay, Amazon and even in google for the company that made it. I will try to see if I can polish the disc.
Thanks again, Henry's 31 |

Re: Looking for Model A DVD
Henry,
My son rented a video game and somehow it got some pretty good scratches and would not work.I took some 2000 grit water paper and sanded the scratches out I then took my car buffer with some machine glaze and polished it.I made my son hold it while I buffed,he really had to hold it tight or it could take off.it worked perfect but I would recommend making a copy because the coating on the disc could be very thin.by the way the sandpaper and glaze are auto refinishing products. Hope this helps. Doug |
