Default Thompson Products S975 V8-60 valve usage

I would like to know if the Thompson S975 valve is an intake or exhaust valve, or can be used in either location. Thompson catalog designation would be helpful.

S975 is an exhaust valve, intake is V975.

A magnet will tell you if it has a stainless head or a steel one. Stainless head valves can be used for either intake or exhaust in the bigger brother V8 blocks but steel heads are for intake only.

Charles Thompson (later TRW), was the man that perfected the joining of steel stems to stainless heads for engine valves.
