Question Disability help

I am looking for help for a friend who has MS and is no longer able to use his legs, and therefore can not drive his Model A. Is there anyone out there who has information on handicap hand controls that can be used on a Model A that would allow him to drive his car? Any help or leads would be appreciated. He is stubborn and will not accept an automatic transmission and I am at a loss to help him.

they actualy are quite simple to rig up just cluch bale with a hand lever to the shiter shaft just like in some jocky shift haleys with a cable runing down to the cluch Move the start button to the side of the stering colum and rig a pull lever under the gass take and up a little for the brakes almost like a ebrake releace in a modern car. I saw it done in a 58 corvet

I think I saw a thread about this on the HAMB site?!

My father had ms and I used to drive his van all the time using the hand controls. This was an automatic though.

Here's a link to the hamb thread. I don't think he's made it happen yet but 2 heads are better then one.

Join the hamb and contact the guy who started the thread. Dollars to doughnuts he'll probably be thrilled to help.

good luck

One thing you can do for the starter, if it's just a driver is to install a solenoid with a push button switch on the dash rail.
