Default Before I Break Something

I want to replace the rubber seals under the windshield wiper arms where it meets the body. Are the arms held on to the shaft with a drift pin?

Remove the wiper arm top rear cover and the rod in the motor shaft will come right out. The cover is spring loaded and has to be pulled up, hold the wiper end with one hand and pull the cover with the other.

Not sure I follow the above procedure here is a pic of what I have, looks like some sort of pin. I tried to pound it out but does not seem to be moving.

It is a horseshoe shaped clip, pounding on it could close it around the groove and make it hard to remove, the wire rod part goes through a hole, the spring putting tension between the 2 fulcrum points gives the blade tension to holt it to the glass

Okay I figured it out. Once I lifted the arm everything just fell apart. New rubber gaskets installed. Very interesting design, thanks for the help.
