thats all i can come up with the larger valves in combined with high volume pumps must raise the circulation rate something radical so there is no time for thermal transfer so reduced cooling that actually goes into runaway as the thermostats wont close down and reduce the flow basicly thats what happens when you get partial core blockage

Thermal heat transfer is a function of temperature difference and flow rate. Time does not enter into the equation.

On an engine that is bored. Getting the heat out of the engine (headers) might be "maybe" as important as a radiator that is big enough. Not sure the speed of the water helps or makes anymore difference then a large water source or removing heat. Timing excluded. For driving normal...

If your engine is too hot but you water temp is cool is very different. Flow of water is just circulating cool water. At some point the water heats. Everytime I turn my engine off, the temp can/will rise 10 degrees with engine off and pumps off.

Not sure why in Sydney you need to run stats.

Because it's important to get an engine up to operating temperature a quickly as possible?
