Default Flathead Ted brake. floater question

I am having a little trouble with one of the rear brakes on my car. It is a 32 roadster, everything rebuilt. New bearing surfaces, new bearings, good round drums and new woven linings on the shoes. Cross shaft, clevises etc etc are also rebuilt. Has teds floaters all round.
One wheel just locks up as soon as the brake pedal is pushed. Have tried various adjustments etc but still the same. When I lock it up at slow speeds it feels like its kind of stuck on then drags a little.

Any ideas?

Did you chamfer the linings??
I would redo the adj on the wheel that locks up. Front or rear??

After having similar problems as yours I used the Crosby brake adjusting system & was pleasantly surprised how well my 34 brakes work. google in crosby brake adjusting & it will give you the information you need. It takes some time to do it but well worth it. ( I also have Ted's floaters)

The floaters I installed gave specific instruction NOT to use woven linings. I also found that proper adjustments on the complete system were very critical in preventing wheel lockup and/or pulling to one side or the other during hard braking. However, once adjusted properly, the braking action is far superiour to the original mechanical brake design. Probably as good as some hydraulic conversions I have driven.

Make sure the square cam like pins have the shoes centered to the axle race ,You may need to weld up the track they slide on , .Measure the shoe lining with something like calipers and move them in the opposite direction to the widest measurement,
,Adjustment
Set the wheels with more drag on the fronts ,at about 1/4 pedal ,Road test it while ridding the pedal .After things cool of ,Adjust them with all wheels on the ground ,check the temperature of the drums ,make sure the fronts are coming on first .I would use Woven if I had a choice .
