CHASSIS SWAP
Will a model t body fit on a '47 frame? Will you have to shorten it and/or make it narrower? |

Skeet: Go to this site and you will see all the frame dimensions from 26 to 40. Hope this will help. http://www.wescottsauto.com/site2003C/frame_specs.html |

Re: CHASSIS SWAP
They're not even close to a fit. Depending on what you wish to accomplish it seems it would be easier to build or buy a new rectangular tube frame for the T body & go from there. |

Anything will fit anything if you want it to baddly enough. I'm going to assume you have a '47 chassis or kinda complete car and a T body of some sort. If it was me, and it's not, but if it was, I'd take all the mechanical parts ( engine, trans, brakes, steering, rear, etc) put all that on an A frame, cut the X-member from the '47 frame and put that into the A frame, put the T body on that and you have a great " rat rod" for cheap money, that will go like the dickens 'cause it weigh's nothin'. Seriously, the '47 frame is way too big and heavy to use for a T. Good luck, this will be a great, fun project |
