Okay, I must have missed something. I get the welcome greeting in the upper right. I'm able to post here and in all the discussion forums, but in the swap meet section it shows "May not post....." at the lower left. Do I need to jump through some other hoop, or is it based on some amount of time after registration to pass?

Nope, you are good... Just jump into one of the specific classified sections (model t, a, early v8, etc...) and you will be able to post.
