Default 49 horn

the horn on the 49 quite working. I under stand if you push down on the horn ring and turn left the horn can be removed then you can clean the contacts? when I remove the horn ring will anything fall out? thanks for any help. Jack

Did you try running power direct to the Horn?, my '41 also has a horn relay not sure if '49 does another point of failure. I would test all that before I took wheel apart. Could also be a broken wire in steering column.

The horn ring will have a spring to hold the tension on it but it won't fly out after the tension is released. The rubber ring is the major problem.
