Re: cast iron drums
I recently spoke with Mel's son regarding this.. He stated the drums are made in China to their specs and I thought he said all the 'A' drums came from there, but, maybe I'm wrong about that.. So, my question is, where do we get the drums that are made in the good old USA ??

Re: cast iron drums
Check out Brattons. They carry ductile iron hubs and drums that are made in the USA. They claim they're 2 times stronger than standard cast iron.

Re: cast iron drums
I bought 2 sets of cast iron from Bert's in Denver. They install your hubs from your old drums. Very satisfied.

Re: cast iron drums
I have one front wheel on my hucksted that needs some work on it. It will lock up on a quick stop and sometimes you find your rear end where your front end was. That is why it is best to have the rear stop first to keep from having this sort of thing happend.

Re: cast iron drums
I bought a nice pair of original 31 vented front cast iron drums that showed no wear and were ready to install from Rock Hill Will Cronkrite a few years back at the swap meet at Smith and Jones in Columbia SC. I'm still appreciating the great deal he gave me on them.
