Re: Help Please 1929 Sport Coupe
The back light flap has snaps on the bottom for attachment to the belt rail and to the center top bow. The snap parts are available for this. It just has to have studs installed on the top bow lower surface for it to be snapped in the up and open position.
Volume 5 of the how to restore your model A has a good run down on the Sport Coupe models. Bows and supports are wrapped with cloth and wrapped chip board pieces are used to cover the center top bow area. The kits from Classtique or Cartouche should come with all the soft materials for this. the card board pieces that go in the corners and up over the edge of the top have to be covered on the inside with fabric too. Those pieces, the edge wires, and the straps all help hold the top up and looking crisp. The outer belt rail two piece snap molding is damn near unobtainium these days. Original landau bars are preferable but the cast aluminum ones will get the job done. |

If you know anyone with a Nov./Dec. 1969 Restorer magazine there is a 20 or so page article on the '29 Sport Coupe with plenty of pictures.
