oddball y-block
I was recently at the late Bill Smith's Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, NE. While there I came across a most unusual y-block. How about Weslake heads and fuel injection?
Notice the distributor moved to the front.

Re: oddball y-block
My guess would be that it's an oil pump for a dry sump oil system. But, as I said, that is just a guess.

Re: oddball y-block
Speedy Bill's house has some of the coolest engines anywhere. Many people may not know it, but the Y block was built much latter in Argentina, and small versions of it were used in many forms of racing.

Re: oddball y-block
Hey Sidevalve,
Thanks for sharing that, I went to school in Lincoln and never heard of the place. I guess the poor student aspect of life there had some influence. Best, Steve
