Default 30 Tudor Rear Seat

The bottom part of the rear seat in my 1930 Tudor fits nicely, but does not snap into place. When i put it in place the bottom cushion slides forward. I have looked at the forums and manuals and I can not find any references to how the front of the rear seat is held down. I don't know if I have the wrong hardware in place or if it is just bent incorrectly.

I am attaching a picture from the front edge of the bottom cushion. I plan to join a Model A club so I can look at other Model A's, but until then I need a little help.

BD there are two brackets that are riveted to the front bottom of the seat frame that snap behind the metal riser to hold the seat from moving forward. They are not shown in your picture. See Bratton's Catalog item No.36070. I'm restoring a 1930 Tudor from the ground up. Grant

Try doing a search for 1929 Tudor rear seat wood or frame, and see if you can find the pictures of the nice original one I posted. I sold it to a guy in North Dakota, otherwise I could take a picture to show the brackets and location.

The hardware shown looks like the hardware to hold the backrest in position. I will post the pictures for the bottom cushion when it is daylight.

Here's a link to a past thread with some pictures I posted of reupholstering the rear seat.
One picture shows the brackets.

Since Tom has a very good picture of the brackets, and I am having trouble resizing a picture for upload, I will not be posting a picture.

I worked up quite a sweat getting the rear seat cushions back in my 30 Tudor. I'd get one side clipped and the other side would pop out. You might find an extra set of hands helpful.

Thank you everyone for all the good information. I made some clips to hold the seat in place for now...they seem to work quite well. I have only had my 1930 Model A for about three and a half months. There is a lot I don't know.
