Early Model A Banjo?
Have two banjos, trying to decide on one for my car. Both are Model A.
I noticed on the one I planned to use there are no stiffening top or bottom rib which the other one does have. Is this less desirable/weaker? Is it an earlier banjo? There are also no numbers stamped on it indicating a gear ratio on the bottom.

Re: Early Model A Banjo?
The early banjos are prone to crack. My advice is to use one with the support gussets.

Re: Early Model A Banjo?
There won't be any numbers stamped on Model A banjos showing axle ratios. That was started later on the Flathead V8 cars.

the early rear end has the pinion on the drive shaft and the later has the pinion on a separate carrier and is easier to change and set up.
