Re: Steering wheel wobble
The tires are almost new ( Hankook-Korian made ) they were on the car when I bought it. They are not out of round, and had and rims run straight. There is a posibility tha the belt is moving around, I'll see iif I can find some tires and wheels to try. Thanks for all your help and ideas. I'll let you know if I get it corrected. Al

Re: Steering wheel wobble
I now have it set at 1/8" , can't tell the difference from 1/4" I'm kinda leaning towards the tires being bad. Keep informed what I find. Al

Re: Steering wheel wobble
I found out today the tires are actually 11 yrs. old, tire guy said they recommend changing tires every 7 years regardless of the tread wear. Maybe steel belts are out of place or don't work well on old solid axles. Ordered new Cocker wide whites. Hope this fixes the problem it's getting expensive. Al

We just got home from The Race Of Gentlemen in Wildwood NJ. We took 4 cars. My 32 roadster, my 32 Tudor, my sons Model A on 32 frame and a family members 55 Chevy with a LS motor. My daughter drove the 32 Roadster there and back 400+miles, almost all on interstate highways @55-65 mph. We switched to the 32 Tudor when it started to rain 60 miles from home on Sunday. The Roadster ran flawlessly there and back. No Death Wobble since I installed the damper. Steering effort is basically unchanged. Not really that much harder if at all. I drove it for about 70 miles on Saturday to give my daughter a break. I could take both hands off the wheel at 65 mph with no concern. Now...I'm getting ''picky".... At times... it has a slight vibration I think in the front end, that translates into a slight shaking of the windshield frame and cowl. The tires are @ 35lbs. and the front spring feels a little stiff for a light roadster. I'm going to start by re balancing the front wheels and setting the tires to 32lbs. Pictures of the car and the girls are on Instagram under 1932phil. Lots of folks put pictures of all 4 cars on Instagram as well. My roadster is maroon and white. The 55 Chevy is yellow and white.
