Carlisle
so I attended Carlisle today and scored a few nice pieces. Was great to get out and about and chat with the guys there.
I wont get into the politics or mask thing, but everyone seemed to be having a good time and the spots were a little over half full. I would suspect tomorrow another 15-20% of the people to be rolling in. some people had there stuff there, but hadnt even set up yet. I found a freshly older rechromed bumper for my 31 roadster, a nice set of headlights and bar for the same and an after mkt horn. Picked up 5 rad/gas caps and think 2 are eatons. will check them out further....... I did see an aristocrat dash, and it intrigued me, because of the thread that was written on it about a month back here. this looked like a repro and not of the highest quality, so I let it go. some great tires and whls there, that I passed on. I did meet a fella from Harrisburg at 7am and bought a 52 ford truck bed, fenders and runningbds from him. It was all together and almost didnt fit in my 5.75 bed from my f150. I miss my old 8' beds. so much more practical! A fun day and glad to get out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Carlisle
I was there Thursday and Friday. What a difference 1 year makes. 2019 the place was dead. This year was great! Loads of sheet metal, I picked up 2 new 700x20 tires for $20.00 each. I even found a Simmons carb for a model A. I hit the Eastwood booth for some supplies.
Today I hit the Swap meet at the Eastern race car museum, tires, doors, wheels. Tuesday will be the Pre War swap meet at Luray. Drove past Hershey for the heck of it. |

Re: Carlisle
Nice Wick! I was actually contemplating going back for some more buys.........
but time ran out. Glad they held it and that I got to go. already "flipped" the ford bed for a tidy profit and to build up the "parts fund". new bumper is on the roadster and looks great! sure beats a painted one. having fun! |
