Default Ford Racing Performance Stainless Steel Valves

Has anyone used Ford Racing Performance stainless steel valves, specifically M-6507-J302 (Intake) and M-6505-G302 (Exhaust)? Both have 11/32 stems and 5.075 OAL. 1.94 intake/1.54 exhaust. I'm pretty sure that they, like many/most valves, are made in Argentina.

Thanks.

P.S. Sorry for originally posting in Early Ford Forum.

I do know that back in the day some HP Ford big blocks had sodium filled valves. Don't know if the ones you're inquiring about are but worth verifying if the are or not.

Not sodium-filled.

Stainless valves do OK if they have hard chromed stems. If not then they should be run in a bronze lined guide. They have a tendency to gaul against a cast iron guide surface.

Aircraft engines use the sodium filled SS exhaust valves but they run in high chrome type valve guides now days. Bronze type guides wore out too quickly and required 300-hour inspections for wear.

I used aftermarket SS valves meant for a Chev. Order them .200 longer, they are far less expensive than the odd sized Ford holes. I used 1.94 intake and 1.6 exhaust.

I looked at Manley and Ferrea catalogs and didn't see 1.94 valves that are close to the OEM Y-block length of 5.09-in. I did find 1.60 exhaust valves and 2.02 intakes, but I think 2.02 is too big for my application. I don't think the Ford Performance 351W 2.94/1.54 valves could be considerably more expensive. I would also question the quality of any valves that are considerably cheaper.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I did want to hear from someone who uses the Ford Performance valves. If I didn't already say so, I think that valves that are used in an $11,000 crate engine that comes with a two-year warranty should be safe to use.
