Carb difference ?
Hi, other than the price what is the difference between the Ford carb Mod, 59a and the mod 94??? again thanks for Your help. David I drive a 47 pickup half ton if that makes a diff.

94 isn't actually a model number. It designates the venturi diameter. If you see a carb that has 59 cast on the side of the bowl, it will also have 94 cast on the back of the bowl. 94 was cast on all bowls from '39 through '53 (last flathead V8). In 1954 they went to 1" and '55 & '56 were 1 1/16".
The model names were cast on the side of the bowl. |

One correction to what I typed is that in '39 and '40 that style carb from Holley was smaller for the V8-60 engine. I believe it had 81 cast in it for the venturi size.

I think the "81" was the designation for the Stromberg V8-60 carburetor. I think the Holley version was called a "92".
