Default MAC's/Ecklers substitute

Anyone have comments on Obsolete & Classic Auto Parts? They seem to have a lot of the same stuff Eckler's had including uph. kits.

Seeing that you are in Tennessee you need to check out Third Gen Automotive in McMinnville.

I have never heard of Obsolete & Classic Auto Parts and with all due respect, there is no way they have the expertise and service for 1932-1953 Fords that Third Gen has.

If they have authentic 1932-1953 Ford interior kits, I'll eat my shoe.

I looked through the catalog and it does look like macs including their prices. They also show cartouche upholstery kits. Being macs has sold twice lately I would BEWARE!!!!! Ron

I second the Third Gen recommendation. If Mike doesn't have it, he'll tell you where to get it. And I don't know how he does it but his shipping prices are way lower than about everybody else.

Obsolete and Classic parts has been around for YEARS. For many of them the name was Obsolete Ford Parts. There wholesale division is Dales Manufacturing, they are the manufacturers of the 1933-35 horns among other stuff.

And like almost everyone else, they buy and sell everyone else's product.

Don't rule them out to hastily, but don't rule them in to quick either.

Not I but definitely a compliment. Third Gen is a fine outfit even if they are flatlanders. It appears that Obsolete has a lot of stuff that could come in handy. Maybe someone will comment on the upholstery stuff, I'm not sure there is much choice out there.

I knew that. I've been to Michael's business and home 6-8 times. I was being facious.

There is no choice for 1932-1953 Ford upholstery.

Not I but a compliment for sure. Third Gen is over in the flatlands. It does look like Obsolete has a lot of stuff including upholstery which we do not have much choice with.

Flatlands? If so, why are there all those signs along the roads stating "view ahead blocked by hill"? Ha! Off the beaten path, for sure, flatlands, not so much.

As Karl Wescott stated obsolete has been around for years. Their sister company is dales manufacturing. We are a dealer for Dales. They tend to have the same quality as Vntique. Some things they are the only source for such as 33-35 horns, grille trim stainless, and glove box liners. I can PROMISE, They do not make upholstery kits. I have a itching feeling there could be a source again in the future.

And all this time I thought the Duck was the source for glove box liners.

Yup! THEY (Michael & his lovely bride) may be MODEST, but THEY're a pair of "GO-GETTERS" in today's old Ford parts business, for sure. Seen here a while back with their raggedy ol' '32 tub in the background.

Obsolete says they are a “Dealer for Cartouche Upholstery “. But so we’re other Ford vendors. Now the supplier is gone.
