What are they worth??

Have the following items - the last of what dad had when he was restoring Model A's. Have no idea of their value now so maybe someone here can help.
1. 1930 Florida tag - very very good shape
2. 3 Florida permanent horseless carriage tags - very very good shape
3. Model A Judging Standards book - Like new, barely used
4. 1930 Model A Instruction book - cover has a couple of small stains
5. 1931 Model A Instruction book - cover has a few stains & a couple of
eared corners
*** Both Instruction books are very clean inside and easily readable
Can send pics if anyone is inrerested

I would guesse that the 1930 plate unless restored would be worth around $30. Horseless carriage plate maybe $5. The JS book unless it is the current one maybe $10. The instruction books if original may be gold plated, if repops worth $5-$10. Rod

Thanks for the info Rowdy. The Instruction books ARE original. Dad is 89 now and no longer able to work on A's. He built his 30 coupe from parts from about eight different cars, won a couple of awards at local shows in S. Fla in the 80's and he and mom drove the coupe to Michigan for the 50 year celebration of the Model A. His specialty was engines and he designed an internal oiling system for the crank shaft - so if anyone has one of those engines it is one of dad's. Family's kinda proud of him.

Somehow over the last 10 years I acquired a 1980's JS. I had to laugh at the big grey areas when comparing it to the 1998 version. I have no clue what to do with such an outdated version. Probably when I dig it out next I will try to sell it and hope to get a little for it. Rod

I wonder when the first Judging Standards book came out?
I also have a very early one, and it's quite thin.
There's been a lot of good research since then.

Tom - The JS book I have is copyrighted 1981, measures 81/2" X 11" and has 24 'sections'.

I have a copy of the Judging Standards by the Model A Restorers Club from March 1969. Talk about grey areas! However, they are quite adamant that absolutely no engine parts should be chrome plated!

I also have a 1974 version and it has 26 areas = also I have a pocket version with no date and only 4 areas, 4" wide X 5" tall.

I've got the 26 page edition from 1974. It specifies the green shag carpet for the front and the yellow shag for the back. Running boards are astro turf covered.

I get some of those kind of carbs as cores that say same same thing:

1930Coupe, when you price the 30 A Instruction book please PM as I might be interested in that assuming price represents "gold plated" vs. "solid gold".

Single plates usually are not a high dollar item. Pairs of plates fetch high dollars.
