Question Black single stage paint.

Hi guys and gals. I tried this once before, but now my 36 coupe is close to being ready for a new coat of black single stage paint. As you know there are many shades of black. I am looking for a nice deep black. Some blacks seem muddy with too much brown or gray. Many of the paint suggestions that were given to me in the past or no longer available. I would appreciate any help. I have seen many BMW's with a nice black, but I haven't been able to find the paint code.
Thank you Frank

Stop by an auto paint store and ask your question. They have paint chip books you could look at.

Don't know a much prettier black than the fenders on a Model A Ford or a 32/33 Ford. I would imagine that ANY paint manufacturer would have that code!!!

Go to a local automotive supply store and buy a small sample of Nason black single stage urethane. You should be able to get them to mix a pint sample for
you to try. I used a lot of Dupont Centari Pitch Black (no longer available) when
I restored my 32 5Win may years ago. Nason's black is very similar and one
Hell of a lot cheaper than PPG's single stage Concept. I think you'll be happy
with the Nason.

Go to a BMW dealership and check out the Black BMW's (new).
Pick out the one that suits you. There will be a color code sticker on it somewhere.Probably under the hood. Just write down the year of the car and the paint code. The paint store will take it from there.

The black handed down from the ages was "Coach Black" no extra colors in it.

I just ordered an extra quart of Centari 99A a month or three ago. Last two times it came in an Axalta can.

I agree. I used black PPG Concept single stage for the black parts on my truck and they turned out great. Unfortunately I don't think they sell the Concept brand anymore.

I use Sherwin Williams 2nd dimension. It’s a nice single stage paint. Have painted tons of black Model A fenders. You can sand and buff it now or ten years from now .

Nason sells an over the counter single stage black that is a very good quality and very "black" black.

What ever black Buick used for their Grand Nationals in the '90's is one of the black-est blacks I've seen.
