Default Out from a long slumber......1937 ford deluxe 22,000 original miles

From 1937 to 1969 its story isnt really known other then it was in Milford Delaware since new. The car was bought in 1969 with only 22,000. original miles. Currently has 27,000 The wood graining on the dash is original. It was repainted in 1970 and driven very little then parked again in 1979 (about 5000 miles). Today it was pulled out to see the light of day once again. The radio head is in the dash but not sure were the rest of the radio is. Bumpers were taken off at one point to be replated but never got done. The original lock for the spare tire is still present. Best of all its rust free and is a 85 hp car. Finding a unmolested and rust free car is always amazing. Looks to be about 99 percent correct except for 1939 repop hub caps and a holley 94 carburetor. The banjo wheels is great.

Very, very cool! Great pictures! This might sound odd but I'm always fascinated by the buildings that cars like this sit in. This one looks like the type I would have my eye one wondering what is inside but never to find out. Thanks for sharing....

Sorry for the sideways pictures, not sure how to rotate them. The building is as neat as the cars. Built in the 1920s, had gas pumps at one time and supposedly sold Model T fords.

Nice car. What is interesting to me is I lived in Milford as a young boy from 63 to 67. Small farm town at that time. Makes me wonder where this car was. I never hear anything Mentioned about Milford. Moved to Alaska from there. Was thru there for a visit in 74, but never since then. Learned about bailing hay, picking corn, learned to drive tractors, & ride horses. A fun time as a kid. Thanks. Bill

Milford has changed a lot. Grown in size as far as houses but still a lot of farms. Pretty much all of sussex county is growing, but to me a little too fast.

Love that thing! It doesn't get much better than to have a "barn find" Ford. I was lucky enough to find one a couple months back, a little rougher than yours though, pdf attached What the heck, gotta do something with our time. Just finished restoring the brakes to original (were juice brakes). That was a chore.
Enjoy,
gregg

The picture disappeared on the previous Post from Gregg, so here is the 1937 Ford Deluxe Fordor that was missing.

The lack of a roof antenna is an indication that the car came from the factory without a radio. The radio-head in the dash and lack of a radio chassis tells me that the previous owner had plans to install a radio but never got around to finishing the job or he just liked the looks of the radio-head as opposed to the ashtray....

At this point we got plenty to drive. Would like to find it home were it would be appreciated for what it is, and not streetrodded or restorod or what ever the current trend is the hipsters are calling it.
