Default Red's headers

I have purchased a lot of stuff from Red's Headers and always been happy with everything. Recently I opened up a bag of cylinder head acorn nuts and found out I had 47...... one short. I've been calling, sent email, smoke signals, whatever, with no luck. I am just asking if anyone has had any recent contact with them. Thanks.

Funny you mention this. I've also had great service with Red's. I wanted to order more head gaskets and found the store on their website difficult and almost unusable. It was unusual since all of my other transactions were seamless.

I just haven't had time to give them a call to see what's going on.

Regarding their website, there is one ending with .com and another ending with .net, this is the one to use, although I don't know the story behind this, and it is kinda difficult to use.

Hate to her that. I have always had good experiences with Red's in the past. Hopefully they are just having temporary staffing issues or something

I’ve called them about 3 years ago and had no problem ordering an exhaust pipe to go with my reds headers. They help me get the correct one as they had two listed on the website.

Same here. Most recent purchase was approx. 4 months ago, so I was surprised to find their online ordering changed since then.

Just in case this all goes south and you don't get your missing acorn, I have a partial set here and would be pleased to send you a couple. Send me a PM

Thanks for your generous offer GB, I believe I found a source for the same acorn nuts, who sell individually or in bulk. Who knows, might even be the source Red's used.

I posted the same question about Red's on the HAMB and one guy said he tried to buy a Model A header last summer and never got to through to anyone, bummer.

The .com vs .net could be the difference between the old owner that retired several years ago, vs the new owner

Specifically, which is the one that works? ".com" or ".net"?

I've tried both and neither worked for me last week. Neither site would allow me to put items into the "cart".

When I go to Red's, I get a warning that it is a dangerous site.

That’s not necessarily a problem. Our regular website will often show up as “unsecure” for some reason. Even though you can’t order anything from the site. Our online store is a completely different website which has the required security for doing business online and has the needed security.

I just received this on the Flat Spot forum:

Bill BoomerScott Engelhart they are very much open. Their webpage was hit by a scammer. Victor J. R. Garcia is working very hard to fix the page and is also selling as fast as he can get parts in. Be patient and keep phoning. I received a large order 10 days ago in Canada.

Ah, makes sense. It just wasn't adding up from past experiences. Thanks for reporting back.

Hey Shoebox, are you talking about the 7/16 NF heat-treated acorn nuts for the head studs? Did you get them from ARP or somebody else?

I found them at ALLEN'S FASTENERS, Ronnie Roadster told me about them. Also got some ARP items from them, very reasonable prices.

Has anyone else been in touch recently with Red's Headers? I ordered and paid for a set of headers November 12. They had the headers in stock according to the website, but I haven't received them yet. I've tried to get in touch with them by e-mail and phone without any success.

Allen's is the best kept secret for ARP stuff.

On April 22, I ordered a set of headers for my recently acquired 1951 Custom Convertible. It took me several tries via email and phone, but I finally got through to someone on the phone; and was able to place my order. They told me they would notify me via email when they were shipping the headers.
