Default Running board mount does not line up

I was looking at my Dad's model a ('30-'31 coupe) and noticed that the running board does not line up with the frame bracket. It looks like my Dad made a hole where the body had one but the frame bracket was not. Can anyone explain why it did not line up? Wrong bracket or running board?

Thanks,
Todd

I saw that over on Facebook, and the straight answer is this was a running design change with Ford and they only used the one body bolt during this period. We have discussed this several times in the past so let me see if I can find some of those previous discussions. In the meantime, go to Pluck's site where he discusses the running changes of the frame from beginning to end.

Ford always used up left over parts if he could, so this seems normal.
