Re: Mangled A
Makes you wonder what they did to peal the roof off like that though. Roll down a mountain or across a fence? I like the photos you post! Every one has a story and it's up to us to come up with it! Thanks

Re: Mangled A
Rollover? Looks like the radiator shell and maybe the left headlight survived... probably a good left rear fender as well.

Re: Mangled A
So just for laughs and giggles, I heard back from my son, who as I mentioned is an engineer who reconstructs accidents as a consultant. His take:
"Nothing fell on it. My gut instinct is something between a T-Bone and a 50% overlap frontal, probably a PDOF [Principle Direction of Force] of ~40° (SAE convention). The can opener action on the roof is interesting, gut says that the vehicle tipped (the CoGs on these are extremely high) and grabbed something while coming to a stop. I'd bet all the damage on the driver's side would be abrasion. But ultimately no real way to know." And he didn't charge me for this.

Re: Mangled A
An easy restoration. It was running when it was parked.

Re: Mangled A
I wonder if the occupants survived. If they did, they were very lucky.

Re: Mangled A
There were no occupants in mine. That car was in my cellar when the house burned. The guys fighting the fire reached in the end bedroom, trying to get a hold of the floor with a backhoe. With the smoke billowing around him the operator pulled the lever, and pulled that car through the cellar door.He never knew it was in there until it crashed through the doors on the end of his bucket.
