Default 59ab rotor cap?

I have a 59ab flatty that I am needing a rotor cap for. The type that was on the motor had a rotor cap with 2 outlets coming out of the top of the cap. It also has an inner cap also. I would like to run a crap type cap on the engine, am I able to? Or do I need to stay with the same type rotor cap that came with the engine? I am alos going to get a new inner cap and a new rotor putton as well.

No problem there. You will need to order the spring clips and the little split rivets that hold them and of course a cap and rotor along with wires that will work for you. You have to get creative to bundle the ignition leads to keep them out of the moving parts but that isn't too bad a chore.

When you go to the catalogues just order parts that start with 21A

And... You can get the cap & rotor from your local parts store. I just recently bought a cap & rotor that came in SMP (Standard Motor Parts) boxes, and they are top-quality -- brass contacts in the cap. Mention 42-45 Ford to the parts-jockey.
You will still need the clips, mentioned above. Several of the vendors have them - Mac's, C&G, Van Pelt, to name a few.
