Re: tachometer
Hi, I have a "Westach" Tachometer that is perfect for the model A. The gauge is from 0 to 3500 RPM and is the correct size for the rest of the gauges. It is universal for either 6 or 12 volt (except for the light) so specify if ordering. I don't remember the cost but I've had it for about 8 years and am very satisfied. You can google their site for info. Good luck!

Re: tachometer
Decades ago Sun made many types of tachs for diverse applications, including boats and aircraft which had low RPM ranges. Some Sun tachs used a separate control box so you may need one of those as well (specific to the voltage/ground type/no. of cylinders).
Here is a 3K RPM tach for 12 volt, neg grd apps. There are many other types available today... http://www.ebay.com/itm/sale-SUN-Tac...5YsLdE&vxp=mtr |

Re: tachometer
Here is mine. Westac I think. Bought from Berts about two years ago. Reads to 3500. Simple hookup - one wire to hot/battery. one wire to ground. one wire to distributor side of coil. Small size is not obnoxious. Going to add a temp gauge some day. Custom bracket mounts to steering column.
Oops, for some reason the picture will not load. Will try to add picture later. For now I have to leave to meet frien at Swap Meet. |

Re: tachometer
My friend, Bill, has a tiny stick on tach, with 2 skinny wires. I'm sure 1 is a ground & 1 goes to the coil. It has a battery inside it.
A LOOOONG time ago I looked it up---Seems I remember a name like, "TINY-TACH"???---BUT, I have trouble remembering whut wuz for BREAKFAST???? & I even cooked it MYSELF?? Bill Rpm

Re: tachometer
I don't remember where I bought these but they are VDO gauges. I have a full pressurized engine to go with the oil pressure gauge.I believe the tach is 12v neg ground. It can be set for 4, 6 or 8 cylinders. I think I got them from Summit Racing.
