Question 37 & up car steering gear pittman arm nut size?

I want to tighten up the nut that holds the pittman arm to my 1937 car steering gear box, I don't have a wrench or socket big enough so I mic'ed the nut and it appears to be 1.42" and the conversion to a socket or wrench size seems to be 1 7/16" does that sound correct?

Use a "suggestable" wrench. I have a large crescent wrench that comes in handy a lot of times.

The Ford parts book shows 1.44" so 1 7/16".

Yup. 1-7/16. I picked up a used socket on UK ebay. Snap on 1/2" drive. It wasn't expensive as it is not a popular size.
