Default Not a Electrician

OK please don't laugh

I like this diagram: https://lesmodela.files.wordpress.co...ng-diagram.pdf

the issue i have is the horn wiring.

I see where the blue with yellow tracer wire from the harness connects to the horn

My question is does the yellow wire from the harness (horn wire) go the the cut out relay and the horn yellow wire also connect to the cut out relay?

I don't think you directly connect the yellow horn wire to the yellow harness wire

Thanks

Yes, yellow horn wire connects to cutout.

The horn is controled by the ground path part of the system. The power wire from the cut out connects to one of the horn motor terminals and the other horn motor terminal connects to the middle post in the headlight switch assembly on the bottom of the steering shaft. This allows the horn rod and button to connect in for grounding control.

I also like this diagram, but like this one and most others there is just one thing missing, and that one critical thing is the polarity on the coil.
I know it it now, but back when I was new with my 1st A it was throwing me for a loop.
If they would only add that one missing component it would be perfect.

why do many diagrams have the junction box sitting sideways, making it more complicated to orient the wiring at that location?

Ammeter has dial on back, tail light is upside down. Drawings are hard to make; appreciate them for the information they attempt to provide rather than disparage their difficulty.

we receive quite a few posts about wiring confusion. instead of simply copying the Dyke's diagram or similar historical diagrams, I wish someone would produce a made-for-idiots illustrated sequential wiring plan beginning at the battery and following the system through the connections just one or two at a time.

Advertising sure has a handle on presenting information succinctly, too bad
some information only gets relayed in an overly-complex format.

I have no problem reading the above wiring diagram altho I prefer the nice 11" X 17" laminated one Snyder's sells that I have hanging on the shop wall. https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/P...earchByKeyword

If you have trouble with this one, try reading a later model car wiring diagram.

I also like the schematic that Ruth has shown but like so many you can make comments on them. In this case I have the following:
1. The horn should have two connections.
2. The schematic does have a note for the red wire from the ignition switch but why not show it passing threw the terminal box.
3. The electrical connections are not shown for the points and condenser.
4. I get confused with the ampere meter. Are we looking at the front or the back? The note on the drawing implies that you hook it up and if the needle goes the wrong way, reverse the wires!
The Model A wiring schematic is relatively simply but it defies making it easy to draw. That is why todays car schematics are impossible to read. I think I read someplace that there is up to 5 miles of wire in some luxury cars. Ed

Yes, I know the problem with reading the schematic. I have a lot of friends who have no idea about cables and electricity. But that's my hobby. For me, the Ford has less cables than my moped.
Unfortunately, my previous owner tried the electrical system and failed mercilessly. The car drives and works, but it's a very bad job. Therefore I will now rewire the car completely. However, not in the original style, but with the advantages of a modern car.
I drew my own circuit diagram for a week. The result has become somewhat more extensive.

Big picture...
http://www.drg-ler.de/Bilder/Ford/El...aneu1klein.GIF

For this I plan in addition to the original system:

13 fuses !!
Turn signals all around
Hazard warning lights
Trafficators
Fog lights
Rear fog light
Reversing light
Engine compartment light
Maybe parking lights too ...?!
Water heating with an electric fan
Rear window heater
Radio with Bluetooth / MP3
Socket for telephone / navigation system

The biggest problem will be to block everything in such a way that you cannot see or perceive it. It should be inconspicuous!

I'm curious to see if I can do it, but I'm in good spirits.

Greetings from Berlin / Germany
Andy

I was looking at the diagram that Ruth mentioned (Synders) Nice diagram but.... It shows the horn wires going to the rear of the cutout and others appear to go to the front.
There are two contact points on the cut out. Does it matter where the horn wire connects?

All wires connect to the "Batt" side of the cutout. May be mounted to front or rear depending on generator - long nose or short nose.

Very ambitious. Overkill, I think, but it's your car, enjoy!

I suggest to use only one switch for heater and fan, even if it has a thermal cutout.
