36 Ford fordor sedan dash gauges removal
I need to remove my amp meter/temp gauge cluster to replace. Do I need to remove the dash? If so, how? Thanks for any suggestions!

We can probably assume correctly that i's a Ford. Knowing the year would be nice.

No need to remove the dash. There's two nuts behind the gauge that hold it to the dash. Disconnect the battery first though.

Much easier to remove the speedometer then you have easy access thru that hole without fiddling from under the dash.

Re: 36 Ford fordor sedan dash gauges removal
deuce lover is spot on here. Taking out the speedo makes this job much easier. Expect to drop a nut/washer or three so take care to make a place to catch those buggers. 1/4 inch ratchet with appropriate extensions will help alternating with box/combo wrench.
Be aware there are two light bulbs at 11 and 1 o'clock on the speedo as well as the easily removed speedo drive cable. I'd advise you be gentle with the temp gauge because it's not really a wire but a liquid filled tube and is easily f-ed up. While all this kit is out take time to clean the inside of the instrument glass with a q-tip reached in from behind, and carefully/gently clean the green plastic 'window' pieces that let light into the dials from the tops. I've heard of folks replacing that stuff with Sprite or Mtn. Dew bottle plastic.
