Front Seat Question - 29 Coupe
Hello
Not sure I have seen this on the threads and could not find it so here i go.... My 1929 Coupe front seat rests upon top of the riser yet sometimes it slips backward when I sit on it. I checked in the Ford bulletins and see there may have been some brackets yet I can't locate anyone who sells them or has info on them. Note I have not installed my rumble seat yet but don't think this is the problem. Any help you guy can provide is appreciated. thanks Mike |

Re: Front Seat Question - 29 Coupe
On a coupe there should be 2 small brackets in the center of the back that support the back of the seat frame. However these brackets don't keep the seat from slipping back, they just support the wood frame the seat cushion is fastened to. The seat cushion should have two brackets riveted to the front of the wood seat frame. These brackets keep the seat frame from slipping forward and also keep the frame close to the back. I am attach a picture that shows the 2 sets of brackets.

Re: Front Seat Question - 29 Coupe
I believe that there were 2 or 3 small L shaped brackets that hold the wooden back rest to the seat riser. There should be 3 holes in the riser for the bolts. The brackets are wood screwed to the lower seat back. Others may have different ideas. Norm

Re: Front Seat Question - 29 Coupe
If I remember correctly, there are two L shaped brackets that bolt to the metal frame under the seat cushion that keep the seat cushion from sliding back so that the seat back will stay on top of the seat cushion. I think also these are shown in the Ford book of all the changes for the dealers (sorry for got the name). Mine is a 29 std coupe so may be different than yours. If and when if ever warms up around here and I can get my A out, maybe I could take pictures for you. PM me with your email and I will see if I could send a picture.

'29 Coupe here also.. two "L" shaped brackets at the rear of the seat riser.
Two on the top of the seat-back slide into slots in the package tray. |
