Default Lights Are Good

First - thanks to all of you that have helped me thru my trials and tribulations of getting my 1929 Coupe on the road. I started this project with my Dad when I was 14 and am near completion. I am 62 now! While my Dad did not get to see it back on the road he did see it painted and close.

I have been spending my time (thanks to COVID-19) on my car a little each day.
Today after a lot of trials I have LIGHTS!

But I of course appear to have a couple of problems.
1) Light switch is down in 6 o clock position and the headlights are on. I don't think this is correct AND when I try to move the lever it appears to be stuck....
Comments? Solutions?
2) I have a short - somewhere (blowing fuses) .... any suggestions on chasing this down?

I must admit my heart skipped a beat or two when I saw the lights come on.
Looks like a real car now and not a museum piece.

thanks again to all for your continued help.
Mike

Your problem is in the light switch housing. Every part has a slot that needs to go in the right place.
When you get it right, the switch will Click when you move it. LighTs are good!

Mike I had trouble the same way when I changed the harness. It took a little while for me to see how it all worked together and once you get it, it's a piece of cake. You may have to tape the light switch in the six o'clock position while you put the switch on. (Some genius on here gets credit for that idea) sorry can't remember who.

Spider gear on the horn rod should be in the 12/6 o'clock position, same as the light switch on the steering wheel.
Make sure the slot in the switch plate is lined up to receive the spider gear, (always order two spider gears, they break easy)
And don't be afraid to file the inside of the spider gear down some so it fits onto the horn rod easy, some are made to tight to fit right, and you will break it trying to put it on.
