how far out do the head studs stick out?

In les book he gives dimension for stud height, will give correct amount so studs go through nut.

Dont have a measurement, but the studs (stock that is) have a crown on top. The crown and plus one thread i believe is correct.

The regular length studs should be 2 3/4" above the deck. The longer stud for the ignition switch (stud #8) is 2 29/32" and the long water outlet studs should be 5".
My HC head had been planed so I had to do a little adjusting to get the right fit.
