1923 Model T Replacement Gas Tank
Does anyone know where I can find a fuel tank for a 1923 Model T? The weld at the bottom of the fuel tank where the brass fitting seats had cracked. I’ve tried fixing the crack but it keeps springing leaks. I think it’s time to start searching for a replacement.

Fix the one you have. Place and ad here, MTFCA, Facebook pages or parts wanted on AACA. Unless someone has one sitting, dealers are out of stock because the guy making them died. It is not a weld it is soldered.

Brazing should fix it good.
Radiator shops usually do solder, so check if they have person good in brazing. |

Originally, they were soldered not brazed. Considering the thickness of the tank steel being so much thinner than the cast brass sediment bulb flange, the heat generated by brazing would most likely burn through the tank steel - have it soldered professionally.

Flames and gas tanks don't come to good ends, except maybe getting your wings or horns! "BOOM"

A bed like the one in the photo can be purchased from the good supply houses. I see his was hand built.
