How to align front door gaps.Doors are sagging at rear

First step is to find and correct the root problem(s). This could include:
Door hinge screws loose.
Door hinge pins or hinge pin holes worn.
Structural deterioration of the cowl or door.
Structural deterioration or frame damage.
Deterioration or missing body to frame pads.
Improper shimming of body to frame.
Door hinges needing to be bent to set the door in opening.


Not an easy answer.

What shape are the door hinges in??

They are straight and fit the slots in the body firmly. The halves that are welded to the door are secure. I put new cork and rubber strips down before I set the body back down (I did a frame off resto) I’m thinking more and more that shimming may be what I may have to do to on the cowl end to get the gaps back.

I have this issue on my 37 coupe. My problem is a structural issue where the bottom hinge attaches to the door. I plan to repair the door frames to resolve the problem.
