Default Fordson SnowScrew Tractor Video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBjlSJf4274

This video appears on Ford Barn about this time every year, and since "Model A of the Day" is a snowmobile, this seems appropriate.

Groovy music, BTW. I don't think it matches the age of the Snow Tractor, more Rave/Disco/Easy Listening.

Enjoy

The video was good. It was music that I couldn't take after a few minutes.

That was incredible. Did any of these get built, go into production? If so does anyone have one? I'd like to see someone with one of these restored and working.

They also have one in Valdez Alaska at the museum. Perhaps there was actually a production run of the contraptions. They look fairly efficient and they preceded snow machines by a few years. I believe they also float.

The one in Valdez was supposedly used on the tidal mud flats at low tide.

We have a Fordson Snow Motor here in Fairbanks. These photos were taken yesterday. Fountainhead Museum had a book signing on Sunday and a friend was there with his '30 Coupe. My phone battery went dead before I could get a picture of his Coupe, the Phaeton and the Snow Motor.
I spent many hours on this snow motor, where it was sitting in the woods when I was growing up.

Guys,
Here is anote from Nancy at the Fairbanks Museum. She sez they need parts for their Sno Motor. Somebody maybe can help.
Clem,

Wow, great photos, and so neat that you worked in Alaska years ago! Do you live in Montana now?

.

I'm forwarding these to our museum manager. He'll especially be interested in that rear chain mechanism, as that is missing from the Snow Motor we have. I sure hope we can get ours running again some day.

Thanks again, and have a great day!

Nancy
