Default '70 T-bird wheels

I'm located in Prague, Czech Republic, and at our annual meeting last weekend one member put out a plea for help finding a steel wheel rim for the spare tire for his 1970 T-Bird.

Supposedly he has tried twice via e-bay and received wheels that don't fit, or he has only found a set of 4.

Anyone out there experienced with '70 birds, and are the wheels really something unique? Or did any other makes have the same rims?

Also anyone know where I can find such rim, that can be purchased singly?

I have no experience with wheels on Thunderbirds, but I have been told that while the 64 & 65 Thunderbirds look similar, and both have 15" wheels, the Wheels off a 64 will not fit the 65, as the 65 has Disc Brakes. So there may be a peculiarity regarding the wheels for the 1970 Thunderbirds. Good luck with your search.

Does the Thunderbird have disc or drum brakes on the front? Cars with disc brakes must use wheels that have clearance to clear the brake calipers. Are the wheels 14 or 15 inch, and what is the bolt circle measurement?

Perhaps a picture or a certain stamp on the wheel that he already has wi help us identify one of these.

Thunderbirds moved to 15 inch wheels with the 64 model, so the 70 model would have 15 inch wheels.

This Facebook page might be a good place to ask also.
