Tires
The white wall tires on my 56 Victoria are looking shabby. Can't bring back that snow white look. Where is the best place to get a good looking wide white at the most reasonable price??? Thanks for any advice.

Re: Tires
"Reasonable price" and "wide whitewalls" don't belong in the same sentence. You might check Diamondback Tires. I just bought a set of extra wide white (3") radials for the Merc, 215 75R 15 on sale. Cost $239 each + S&H. Then you gotta get 'em mounted and balanced, plus your toe-in adjusted for radials (they like a bit more). Diamondback does not make their own tires unlike Coker. He buys fresh tires from the wholesalers and applies his own whitewall process to them. The set I got are Toyo. Check out his website.

Re: Tires
Have you tried Westleys ( spelling may be wrong ) tire white wall bleach and cleaner? Also Castrol super cleaner, and Simple Green full strength wok well some times may have to use some fine scotch brite with it, or a stiff nylon brush. all this stuff work really good. If you have no luck cleaning them up, my vote for new tires are the Diamond Back classic tires. Have them on my '51 merc. like them a lot, no problems.---Jim

Re: Tires
A second vote for Westleys and a plastic bristle brush. Spray the product on the whole dry tire. walk around the car and spray all four. Go back to number one and spray again, then add a bit of water and scrub. Scrub the whole tire too. When it gets looking good, rinse well and go to the next. If they dont come sqweeky clean, maybe they are to old to be driven on.

Re: Tires
I've always had good look cleaning white walls with an SOS Brillo pad. Takes one pad per tire.

Re: Tires
There are no inexpensive wide whites. Diamondback and Coker are about the only suppliers.

Re: Tires
Westley's Bleche White was bought by Black Magic and they weakened the formula, supposedly to better protect the tires. Coker makes a white wall cleaner, it gets good reviews, but I personally have yet to try it.
