Default windsheld header

Still looking for help on replacing the wood above the windshield. Do you start by taking the windshield out and what next?

Its been a few years since I did my 30 cpe but I think I removed the visor, the panel behind it & the inner corner brackets & of course the W S.If you have good paint you should put a thick quilt or towels over the gas tank..also check that the new header fits properly. If the WS fits too low,it will hit the gas cap when you swing it open.
