Re: D-Day
When I drive my old cars(Stock) I think about some family driving around during these pivotal and uncertain moments in U.S. history. Helps me connect even deeper with this great Country. Thank you Veterans for rising to the occasion!!

We keep referring to these heros as men. Truth is, most of them were kids, till they stepped on those beaches. Thank you for doing what you were asked to do. T. |

Re: D-Day
Maybe they are the same in New Zealand?? Not America. Just try to hire and train a young person today. The last thing they want is a job.
America was VERY lucky to have that generation of people who were willing to do whatever was necessary according to our president. Think about how that would work today?? |

Re: D-Day
I had an uncle who fought in Italy a d was wounded. Those that fought in North Africa and later Italy were fondly known as the Dday dodgers which in no way belittles what they endured

Re: D-Day
thinking of my Dad, aboard the DD455 at D Day, 2nd day they ran down and sunk two german torpedo boats and later on the way to the med sunk a german sub. Left that ship to transfer to a new ship, DD707, was in the canal when the bombs were dropped to finish out the war in the far east. He did mop up until returning to the states in 46.
