Side mount arms
I am trying to remove the side mount arms from my 1931 Model A. I am attempting to do this without removing the splash apron or bracket that mounts to the frame, (riveted on with three riviets)). I have removed the large nut on the end of the arm, and have attempted to pull the arm straight out. Is this possible?

Re: Side mount arms
It's on a taper and it's likely been there a long time. I'd try puttingsome penetrating oil on it, then after a while putting the nut back on till it is flush with the bottom of the thread. Then give it a "whang" from underneath while someone tries to turn it from above. A little heat (carefully) on the outer part might help.

Re: Side mount arms
if you have a pneumatic air hammer with a flat end on it hit the mounting bracket on the side it might shock it enough to get it to break loose.
