V-8 conversion
I may be thinking way above my head. The idea to put a flathead or other Ford V-8 in my 30 coupe. What's involved? Don't hesitate to shoot me down. Thanks. Not wanting a hot rod.

Re: V-8 conversion
"Don't hesitate to shoot me down." Quite the opposite. I have heard that Henry trialed the V8 by putting one in (I think) 3 Model As in 1931. That might be one of those BS stories that go around. I'm sure it won't take long for the facts to be tabled on this forum. Whether true or not, I know of 2 Model As here running around with flat head V8s in them. I don't know what gearbox is behind them etc but it obviously can be done. The first V8s put out 60 HP, I believe and I'm sure there are many four bangers out there putting out more than that.
If you put one in, hang on!!

Re: V-8 conversion
From what I've read, you would get more bang for your buck with a slightly warmed up Model A 4-cylinder than you would with a v8-60.
